- **Event Description**: منذ آلاف السنين واليد المصرية تحول الخشب إلى فن. على أبواب المساجد والبيوت، وفي الصناديق، والمشغولات المطعمة بالعاج والصدف، ظل الخشب شاهدًا على ذوق رفيع وحرفة متوارثة تعبر العصور.

في جولتنا القادمة، سنعيد اكتشاف هذا التراث الحي بزيارة متحف الفن الإسلامي، حيث نستمتع بمجموعة من القطع الخشبية المنقوشة والمطعمة، ونقترب من أسرار الدقة والجمال في الحرفة الإسلامية.

يتبع الجولة ورشة عمل بمساحة شغل تراث، لنتعرف على تاريخ القشرة وأنواعها وكيفية استخدامها، ويقوم كل مشارك بعمل قاعدة أكواب خشبية مستلهما تصميمها من أحد عناصر الجولة.

تأتي هذه الفعالية ضمن برنامج جولات الخليفة من تنظيم جمعية الفكر العمراني، وتخصص جميع الإيرادات لدعم استدامة البرامج التعليمية والمجتمعية للجمعية بمنطقة الخليفة.

تقدم الجولة وورشة العمل باللغة العربية.

For thousands of years, Egyptian craftsmen have turned wood into art. From mosques and home doors, to ornate boxes, to ivory and mother-of-pearl inlay work, wood has stood as a witness to refined taste and a heritage passed down through generations.

In our upcoming tour, we will reconnect with this living traditional craft through a visit to the Museum of Islamic Art, where we’ll explore a selection of carved and inlaid wooden pieces and uncover the precision, symbolism, and beauty of Islamic craftsmanship.

The tour will be followed by a hands-on workshop at Athar Lina’s Heritage Workspace, where we will learn about the history of wood veneer, its types, and how it is used today. 

Each participant will create their own wooden coaster inspired by elements found during the tour.

This event is part of al-Khalifa Tours program run by the Built Environment Collective, and all proceeds allocated will support the sustainability of the initiative's educational and community programs in al-Khalifa neighbourhood.

Tour fees: 600 EGP

Fees cover the tour, museum tickets, workshop tools and transportation.

Payment deadline: Wednesday, 19th November 2025 at 5 PM.

Fees can be paid at the Athar Lina initiative’s main office at Bayt al-Saliba, or through Vodafone Cash at (01033529892), or via bank transfer to CIB account number 100043462568 If payment is via bank transfer, please choose the payment purpose (reason to transfer) in the InstaPay application (Training Course Fees and mention educational tour in the notes box.)

Cancellation Policy:

Full refund if cancelled before 3 PM on Wednesday, 19th November 2025.

In case of cancellation after that, no percentage of the paid fees will be refunded.
